About Me
Madeline, 1996.
In 1988, I began my formal yoga practice with a highly respected private teacher Narendra Rathore. Since then, my interest in yoga has unceasingly continued to grow. I have exposed myself to various Hatha Yoga methodologies and different teachers and have gained understanding from all of them.
I began teaching yoga in 1996, a time proceeding yoga's rise in popularity and the demand for yoga instructors. Consequently, I was presented with many teaching opportunities which afforded me a wealth of teaching experience.
My desire to teach yoga stems from wanting to share the benefits I have experienced through my own practice. These benefits -- a sense of well being and continued spiritual optimism -- reach every aspect of my life.
My teaching style is one that allows every type of individual to participate regardless of their experience or lack thereof and regardless of their physical capabilities. I have developed the philosophy that yoga is for anyone who wants to pursue it.
My understanding of yoga continues to expand through personal practice, observation, and research. I find teaching yoga to be highly rewarding. Time and time again, I have seen the transformational aspects of this discipline. Many of the people who attend my classes express the positive effects of their own practice and are inspired to continue.
